What does a school counselor do at Wilson? That is a great question and one I can't wait to answer.

The focus of the fall is connecting and building. I focus on connecting with students, Wilson families, and staff. In bullet format here is what I was able to do this fall:

The focus of the fall is connecting and building. I focus on connecting with students, Wilson families, and staff. In bullet format here is what I was able to do this fall:
- Connecting families to Wilson
- Welcoming students
- Introducing myself in each classroom
- Responding to classroom behaviors
- Responding to students in crisis
- Introducing character education of GRIT, Gratitude, and this month is Humility
- Start a student leadership team with 5th grade students with Mr. Beasley.
- Complete three weeks of “Super School” in the kindergarten classrooms
- Complete a Kinder group to reiterate “Super School” behaviors
- Complete a bully prevention unit in the 4th and 5th grade classrooms.
- Meet Individual students and begin to form a few groups to allow for students to grow socially and emotionally.
- Meet with new Wildcat students at a special lunch bunch
